Juxtaposition Arts - Investing in the creative futures of youth in North Minneapolis
Juxtaposition Arts is a teen-staffed art and design center, gallery, retail shop, and artists studio space in North Minneapolis, Minnesota. JXTA develops community by engaging and employing young urban artists in hands-on education initiatives that create pathways to self-sufficiency while actualizing creative power. They provide the space and tools for young artists to learn and grow.
I am donating the proceeds from my T-shirt fundraiser and my George Floyd collection prints toward Juxtapositions Arts’ Capital and Legacy campaign. It’s a 14 million dollar project to invest in facilities, programming and the creative futures of the cities youth.
I chose JXTA Arts because I am passionate about the positive impact that art can have on our daily lives. It is essential to give young people opportunities to learn and grow through expressive mediums. By investing in our youth, we are embracing their energy, empowering their creative abilities, and giving them a voice to promote change
